How do I find my current float balance?

To find out the balance of your Tips Float, or to see if your float has gone into overdraft, you will need to look at your Float Activity Report. If you do not see this report listed in the Instant Back Office you will need to have your company's Instant lead add the "Cash Management Admin" permission to your profile. At this time the only way to know you are about to go into overdraft is to monitor the Float Activity Report.

  • Log into the Instant Back Office at office.instant.co
  • Select ‘Reports’
  • Select ‘Float Activity Report’

The Float Activity Report shows you your current balance in the right hand corner and a running balance of your debits and credits below. Expand your date field at the top to a few months and export the transactions. If you see a negative amount that means your account has at some points gone into overdraft - you will need to increase your float or the frequency of PAD agreement pulls to avoid going into overdraft.

How do I see the amounts that Instant has been pulling from my operating account?

  • Filter your Float Activity report type to "Float Reconciliation"
    • The credit amounts and dates are the amounts pulled from your operating account and timing of when your float as been funded
    • If this amount is more than what you have initially funded you will need to increase your float or the frequency of PAD agreement pulls to avoid going into overdraft
